Websites for Ohio small businesses

A website that brings you customers, not just a page that sits there.

We build it, you own it, and there's no website builder bill every month.

How we compare

Most owners we talk to are choosing between three options. Here are the plain facts about each, so you can decide for yourself.

Who builds it and who owns it

Yes. We build it. You own the finished site and every file.

Depends. You build it yourself. You own your words and photos, but the site itself only runs on that company's platform.

Depends. They build it. Who owns it depends on what the contract says, so check before you pay.

Monthly cost after launch

Yes. No monthly fee to us. You pay for your own domain directly (about $10–20 a year), and hosting for a small site is often free. The $20/month care plan is optional.

No. Ongoing subscription. The cheapest paid plans start around $16–17/month billed yearly, more if billed monthly. Stop paying and a Squarespace site goes offline; a Wix site loses your own web address and shows Wix ads.

Depends. Depends on the deal. Some charge nothing after launch; some bill monthly for hosting or edits.

Mobile load speed (measured)

Yes. We test every site on Google PageSpeed before launch and aim for under 2 seconds. You get the report.

Depends. Depends on the template, photos and apps you add. Nobody measures it for you.

Depends. Only if it's written into the contract. Ask for a PageSpeed report before you sign off.

Online booking or ordering

Yes. Set up and tested for you, using a booking or ordering tool that fits your business.

Depends. Available, but can cost extra: Squarespace's booking tool (Acuity) is a separate subscription, and GoDaddy needs its Premium plan to take payment for appointments. You set it up.

Depends. Usually quoted as extra work.

Google local search setup

Yes. We set up or clean up your Google Business Profile and the local search basics on your site.

Depends. Built-in SEO settings are included, but you fill them in. Your Google Business Profile is separate and is up to you.

Depends. Not usually included unless you ask and pay for it.

Who fixes it when something breaks

Yes. We do. Free fixes for 30 days, then the optional care plan or a fixed hourly rate. Based here in Ohio.

No. You do. The company's support team helps with their platform, not with your site's content or design.

Depends. Whoever you can reach. Fixes after the project ends are usually billed as new work.

Time to launch

Yes. You see a free mockup first, and we agree on a launch date before you pay anything.

Depends. Depends on how much of your own time you can put in.

Depends. Depends on the person and how many projects they're juggling.

Ownership of your domain and files

Yes. Domain registered in your name. You get the full site files and every login.

No. You can own and move your domain, but not the site. Wix and GoDaddy sites can't be moved to another host, and Squarespace exports only some content, not the design.

Depends. Depends on the contract. Make sure the domain is registered in your name, not theirs.

Competitor information checked October 27, 2026, from company help pages and published plan prices. Features and prices change, so check each company's current plans before you decide. Wix, Squarespace and GoDaddy are trademarks of their owners; we're not affiliated with them.

Check your current site's speed

Paste your website address and we'll send you to Google's free speed test. Nothing is sent to us.

Google scores your site from 0 to 100 on how quickly it loads on a phone: 90 or more is good, 50 to 89 needs work, and under 50 means many visitors give up before it loads.

What a monthly website really costs

Website builders look cheap because the price is per month. Put in your own numbers and see what it adds up to.

Use the arrow keys or drag. 1 to 36 months.

The starting fee is Squarespace's Basic plan plus its Acuity booking add-on, both billed yearly (about $32/month as of October 2026). Our price shown is the Plus plan. Change either number to match your own.

The optional care plan isn't included here. It's a choice, not a requirement to keep your site online.

How it works

Three steps. You'll know the price and the launch date before you pay anything.

  1. Free teardown

We look at your current site and Google listing, then tell you in plain English what's working and what's costing you customers. No charge, no obligation.

  2. Free mockup

We design your new homepage so you can see it before you commit. If you don't like it, you walk away and owe nothing.

  3. Launch and handover

We build the rest, test it on real phones, put it live and hand you every login. Then we show you how to make simple changes yourself.

Straight answers

Can't I just use Wix?

You can, and for some businesses it's fine. The trade-off is that you pay every month to keep your own web address and keep their ads off, you do the building and fixing yourself, and you can't move the site anywhere else later. If you'd rather pay once, own it and have someone local to call, that's what we do.

What happens if I stop paying you?

Nothing happens to your site. You only pay us once for the build, and the hosting and domain are in your name, so it stays online. If you're on the optional care plan and cancel it, we just stop doing updates.

Who owns my site?

You do. The domain is registered in your name, the hosting account is yours, and you get every file and login at handover. If you want to take it to another designer later, you can.

Do you do SEO?

We do the local basics on every site: your Google Business Profile, page titles and descriptions, a fast load time, and making sure Google can read your address, hours and services. We don't promise first place on Google, because nobody honest can. Ongoing SEO work is a separate service if you want it later.

How long does it take?

We agree on a date for your mockup on our first call, and a launch date once you approve it, all before you pay anything. The biggest delay is usually waiting on photos and text, and we'll help with both.

Is the mockup really free?

Yes. We design your homepage so you can see what you'd be getting. If it's not for you, you owe nothing and we part as friends.

What do I need to give you?

A 15-minute call, your logo if you have one, and some photos of your business. We'll handle the rest and ask you to approve everything before it goes live.
